Bea is an experience designer and art director from Manila, Philippines. Recently, she completed her master’s in User Experience Design at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. Her postgraduate work explores designing trust within assemblages and the flexible ontology of money.
Her latest post-graduate work explores designing trust within assemblages by re-examining interactions between humans and technology. Fascinated by intervening existing complex systems, Bea is currently working on her final major project which explores the flexible ontology of money. It focuses on how a currency with care as capital can encourage interactions between asylum seekers and their host community.
In 2021, Bea represented the Philippines in the Cannes Young Lions Digital Competition (Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity). In the same year, her work was shortlisted in the Young Lions Live Award competition (London).
Bea has worked with the Manila offices of multinational creative agencies—Saatchi & Saatchi and FCB. 8 years of advertising industry experience enabled her to work across disciplines — visual identity, motion, experience design, digital, print and interface. She has worked with telecommunications, infant nutrition, health and wellness, food, FMCG and automotive brands.
Her interest in music naturally led to a lot of musical TV advert ideas. Bea would usually just record samples for client presentations. Well…Tiktok had other plans.
